KEPS™ / Defensive protection. Handler control.
KEPS™ is the Kinetic Electro Protection System™: a handler-controlled, defensive electro-pulse layer for the working K9. Electric pulses at designated exterior contact areas are intended to deter grabs and holds, giving the K9 another layer of active protection. KEPS™ is included with every K1K9 vest and integrated into the EKP™ Helmet. It is designed for protection, not aggression or punishment.
On the vest, the system follows designated contact areas around the dog’s back and other vulnerable exterior zones. On the EKP™ Helmet, it is integrated into the helmet’s exterior. Contact deterrence is distinct from cushioning or armor: KEPS™ does not replace impact protection or prevent every strike.
K1K9’s vest design includes an internal protective shield between the K9 and the exterior KEPS™ contact areas. Placement around flexing and moving joints is intended to support normal sitting, lying down, resting and agile movement while preventing self-contact. Correct sizing, fit, clearance, inspection and the supplied operating instructions remain essential. These design features are not a guarantee against accidental shock.
The handler controls on/off operation through remote, Bluetooth or manual control, according to the selected configuration. Protective covers help shield the system’s exterior components. Follow the supplied instructions for controls, cover use and handling.
