Earlier published policy retained for review. This import does not approve these terms for the new site or establish that its services and data practices are implemented.
I run a small program, not a data business. I collect the minimum I need to answer you, bill you if you subscribe, and know which pages are worth writing more of. This page states what that is, who else touches it, and how to make me delete it.
1 · Before anything else: do not send me operational detail
Some of the people who read this site work in corrections, law enforcement, and protective operations. If that is you, please read this paragraph twice.
Do not send facility layouts, post assignments, movement schedules, incident specifics, personnel rosters, case material, or anything else your agency would consider sensitive through a web form or an unencrypted email. The forms on this site are ordinary web forms delivered by a third-party service, and my email is ordinary email. Neither is a secure channel and I will not treat them as one.
Tell me what you need at the level of “who I am and what the requirement is.” If a conversation needs to go further than that, we take it off the web entirely and set it up properly.
2 · What I collect
When you fill in a form — enquiry, application, concierge request, waitlist, or contact — I receive what you typed: typically your name, email address, phone number if you give one, your location in general terms, and your message.
When you subscribe — Memberful, my membership and billing provider, collects your name, email address, and payment details, and creates your account. Payment card data goes to Memberful and their payment processor. I never see or hold your card number. What I see is your name, email, plan, and subscription status.
When you read — my analytics provider, Plausible, records aggregate page views, referring site, approximate country, browser and device type. It does not use cookies, does not create a profile of you, and does not follow you to other sites. I cannot identify an individual reader from it.
Server logs — my host records standard request logs, including IP addresses, as part of serving and protecting the site.
When you email me — I have your message and your email address, in my mailbox, like any other correspondence.
What I do not collect. I do not run advertising trackers. I do not sell or rent anyone’s data, and I do not trade it for exposure. I do not ask for and do not want your government identifiers, financial account details, or health records. I do not knowingly collect anything from anyone under 18.
3 · Why I have it, and what I do with it
- To answer your enquiry and, if we get that far, to assess an application.
- To give you access to what you subscribed to and to bill it.
- To send you member email you asked for — new issues, papers, and material changes to price or terms.
- To keep the site working, secure, and worth reading.
- To keep records I may need to keep: proof of what was agreed, what was disclosed, and when.
Marketing. If you subscribe or ask to be on the waitlist, I will email you about the Journal and the program. Every one of those emails has an unsubscribe link and it works immediately. I do not add people to lists because they filled in an enquiry form about a dog.
4 · Who else touches it
| Service | What it handles | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Memberful | Member accounts, subscriptions, billing | Membership and payment |
| Payment processor (via Memberful) | Card data | Processing payment |
| Web3Forms | Delivery of website form submissions to my email | Contact and applications |
| Plausible Analytics | Aggregate, cookieless traffic statistics | Knowing what to write next |
| Website host | Hosting, server logs, security | Serving the site |
| Video host | Delivery of embed-restricted member video | Member media |
| Email provider | My mailbox | Correspondence |
Each of these has its own privacy terms and handles data under them. I use them as services; none of them is licensed by me to sell your information.
Beyond that list: I do not share your information with other trainers, breeders, brokers, or programs. If I refer you to another house because I am not the right fit, I tell you to contact them. I do not hand over your details.
5 · Legal grounds, for readers in the UK and EU
Where the UK GDPR or EU GDPR applies, my grounds are: contract (subscriptions, placements, courses), legitimate interests (answering enquiries, securing the site, understanding aggregate traffic), consent (member email you opted into, withdrawable at any time), and legal obligation (tax and accounting records).
Data is processed in the United States. Where a transfer mechanism is required, my providers rely on standard contractual clauses.
6 · How long I keep it
- Enquiries and applications that go nowhere: deleted within 24 months, or sooner on request.
- Member and billing records: for the life of the subscription, then as long as tax and accounting rules require.
- Placement, course, and certification records: kept long-term. These are the records that prove what a dog was, what was disclosed, and what was signed, and they may be needed years later — including by you.
- Analytics: aggregate only, with no individual record to delete.
- Email: kept as correspondence, and cleared out on request where I am not required to keep it.
7 · Your rights
Wherever you live, you may ask me to: tell you what I hold about you, correct it, delete it, send you a copy, stop emailing you, or stop processing it for a stated purpose. If you are in California, that includes the right to know, to delete, to correct, and not to be discriminated against for asking — and I have no “sale” or “sharing” of personal information to opt out of, because I do neither.
How to ask. Email k1k9giants@gmail.com with what you want done. I will answer within 30 days. I do not charge for it and I will not make you explain yourself.
One limit, stated honestly: I cannot delete a signed agreement or a placement record that documents an animal I certified. That record protects both of us, and in some cases the next handler.
8 · Cookies
This site does not use advertising or tracking cookies, and the analytics are cookieless. Cookies that do get set are functional: keeping you signed in to your member account, and keeping your session working. Member areas need them; if you block them, sign-in will not hold.
9 · Security, stated plainly
The site is served over HTTPS. Billing is handled by a provider that specializes in it, so that card data never sits with me. Member material is access-controlled and member video is embed-restricted. Access to member and applicant records is mine alone.
No website is impossible to breach, and I am not going to tell you otherwise. If a breach ever affected your information, I would tell you and the relevant authority promptly and directly, with what happened and what to do about it.
10 · Children
This site is for adults. It is not directed at anyone under 18 and I do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor has sent me information, email me and I will delete it.
11 · Changes
If this policy changes materially, the version and date at the top change and active members are told by email. Older versions are available on request.
