Electro Kinetic Protections
K1K9’s first helmet. Layered protection by design.
Developed by the K1K9 team, the EKP™ is our first K9 helmet designed to bring visor and eye protection, blunt-impact cushioning, and grab-and-hold deterrence together in one integrated platform. Adjustable internal cushioning and breakaway retention support the protective design. KEPS™, the Kinetic Electro Protection System™, is integrated to help deter grabbing or holding the helmet. Lights, color indicators and strobe settings are designed to support visibility and identification.

Why our team developed it
Our team developed the EKP™ Helmet in response to limitations encountered with existing helmets and restricted sizing options. The design brings fit adjustment, protection-related features, communication and lighting together in a single platform.
Product features
The EKP™ Helmet incorporates an internal adjustment system, synthetic-rubber impact cushioning, breakaway straps, a releasable visor, a noise diffuser and embedded communication speakers. Integrated lighting includes lights above the visor with adjustable brightness and a full-strobe mode. K1K9 specifies ballistic-rated visor lenses; the applicable standard, rating and coverage must be identified for the supplied lens configuration.
How it supports the professional
Three protective functions guide the design: visor and eye protection, cushioning against blunt impact, and KEPS™ deterrence against grabs and holds. Individual fit, breakaway retention and integrated lighting support the working team. These are intended functions, not a guarantee against injury.
Protection & fit
Impact-focused construction
K1K9 specifies a high-impact-resistant synthetic-rubber interior with adjustable cushioning for a firm, individual fit. The design objective is protection against blunt-impact trauma. Final impact ratings, sizing and fit instructions will identify the limits of the released configuration.
Breakaway retention
The strap system incorporates a fast-breakaway feature intended to release if the helmet becomes caught or subjected to specified retention forces. Release behavior and fit must follow the final product instructions. The system is not represented as a guarantee against airway, neck or other injury.
Visor & lens protection
K1K9 specifies ballistic-rated visor lenses with a quick-release or breakaway arrangement for removal of a damaged visor. The supplied lens standard, test rating and coverage must be documented. A visor rating must not be interpreted as a ballistic rating for the entire helmet.
KEPS™ / Defensive electro-pulse protection
Integrated KEPS™ delivers electric pulses at designated helmet contact areas to help deter grabs and holds. Its purpose is defensive protection, not aggression or punishment.
The helmet’s fit and contact-area arrangement are designed to support the K9’s head movement while keeping energized areas away from the dog. Correct fit and clearance are essential; no guarantee against accidental self-contact is made.
The handler controls on/off operation through remote, Bluetooth or manual control, according to the selected configuration. Protective covers help shield the system’s exterior components. Follow the supplied instructions for controls, cover use and handling.
What the handler reviews
Review the individual K9’s fit, vision, hearing, ventilation and tolerance, together with the documented impact and visor ratings, release characteristics and communication compatibility. Final product instructions and configuration-specific evaluation govern use.
Visibility & communication
Integrated lights & internal adjustment
The helmet includes an integrated internal adjustment system and built-in lighting. Lights above the visor can be dimmed, brightened or set to full-strobe mode, with color indicators intended to support K9 visibility and identification. These features are part of the team’s safety-focused design; they do not guarantee prevention of injury or misidentification. Final operating instructions will define supported settings and limitations.
Noise diffuser & communication
The ear-cage design incorporates a noise diffuser rather than active noise cancellation. Embedded speakers support compatible Bluetooth-enabled communication for handler-to-K9 audio. Device compatibility, range, sound levels and K9 hearing effects must be established for the final configuration.
