Inside the foam pillow, K1K9’s proprietary technology provides resistance levels selected according to the K9’s type, maturity and development. The material on the outside and the resistance on the inside serve different purposes.
The internal resistance system works with KAIR™ sensing technology to help handlers assess strength, observe grip quality and review measured pressure. Recorded sessions give trainers another basis for development decisions.
Record the material, resistance configuration and session conditions when reviewing progress. Readings support the trainer’s judgment; a changed reading alone does not establish a strength gain.
Some K9s are accustomed to jute, others to French linen or leather. Three material choices let trainers select a familiar bite-contact surface rather than require the K9 to work on an unfamiliar material.
The jute version has a jute body and jute sensor pocket. The French-linen version has a French-linen body and matching pocket. Leather remains its own separate version. Jute and French-linen bite-contact surfaces do not use leather panels.
Proprietary technology within the foam pillow provides different resistance levels based on the K9’s type, maturity and developmental stage. Material choice does not determine resistance level.
All three versions have a 13 × 9-inch pillow body and internal puncture-resistant lining to help protect the sensing system. Use only under supervision and inspect the pillow, pocket and lining before each session.
K1K9’s suggested starting stage is approximately seven months, subject to individual maturity, dental health and professional assessment. Set assessment frequency for the individual dog rather than a fixed schedule.
Interpret readings in their equipment and session context. A pressure reading is one input to professional review, not a stand-alone diagnosis or prediction of injury.
A published instrumented-sleeve study measured jaw-pressing force but could not report individual-tooth pressure because the sensor range was exceeded. That study does not validate this product (Hyytiäinen et al., 2021).
