Why the Pro Series exists.
A lot of people ask why I have a Pro Series page. In my line of work, it’s simple. I have a variety of skill sets that we get sent to, because we handle executive protection for a number of different types and levels of individuals who need a personal security detail — criminal, judicial, executive, diplomatic. Many are surprised to find out that the guys in our sphere of special operations — if you look at any top-tier team, any top SWAT element in the world — are not just tactical. They carry other skill sets. That is what makes the guys in our sphere unique.
Mine just happens to be that I was able to integrate K9s into the personal security detail, and I redefined the implementation and application of a K9 in the PSD world. What I did in corrections, I applied to every sphere I’ve gone to since. Every skill set I’ve been sent to enhance, I enhance where it makes the most sense.
Everything we do in the PSD world, in the areas I’m responsible for, sits in the inner circle — the last line of defense on the principal. Our K9s, and everybody on that team, need every advantage available to protect the principal or the package we’re protecting.
I’m taking that same methodical mindset and applying it to the K1K9 · SCTU room. I’m taking the experience and making it user-friendly — so the civilian professional, the PSD operator with a K9, the handler who wants their dog to run at a real standard, can enhance their skill set knowing for a fact they are learning from an experienced individual — proven tactics applied to households, the way we would actually use them.
We’ve applied these tactics in the principal’s home. In vehicles. In travel — commercial and private air. On board cruise lines. There is a whole world inside this sphere that most people don’t talk about, because they don’t have the experience behind it. That is what makes the skill set seamless inside the K9 protection world. I don’t bring theory. I don’t bring a rulebook. I don’t bring one skill set.
