The honest answers we give when a K1K9™ is not the right tool for the household.
Not every household is a K1K9™ household. Not every mission is a K1K9™ mission. When the honest answer is no, we say so — and we help you get where you actually need to go.
When the Specification Is Wrong
If the specification requires a sport-title dog, a decoy-work show dog, or a generalist family guardian, K1K9™ is not the shop. Those categories exist for a reason and are served by other providers with real skill in them. We will name names when we can. Referring you well is part of the standard.
When the Environment Is Wrong
If the household environment cannot integrate a mentored specialist K9 — small living space, no time, no willingness to hold the K9 to a working standard — the placement will fail. We would rather refuse the placement than watch it end in a rehoming.
When the Handler Is Wrong
If the person who will live with the K9 will not do the work after the trainer leaves, no dog we build will hold. Placement is the beginning of the relationship, not the end. If the handler will not carry the standard, the standard will collapse in the first ninety days.
When the Timeline Is Wrong
A K1K9™ is not a next-week product. If the requirement is immediate, urgent, or emergency-scale, the answer is almost always no. Real work takes real time. The exception is the Concierge Standard, which exists for a narrow subset of principals with existing infrastructure.
A refusal is not a failed sale. A refusal is the standard doing its job.
