SCAD™ is the Special K9 Applications Division. K9 Development Services is one offering within the division for existing working dogs that need the standard applied. Two tiers. Evaluated first. Refunded if not a fit.

A Service Within SCAD™

K9 Development Services is a SCAD™ offering for a dog you already own, not a placement program. SCAD™ is the broader division for K9 science, development, KAIR™ measurement and KESP™ sparring-partner education. You send us the dog. We evaluate. If the dog can hold the standard, we work it. If it cannot, we refund and return it. No sunk cost, no stringing you along.

Two tiers exist because the two problems are different. Refinement is finishing work. Rebuild is foundation repair. We do not blur the two.

Tier 1 · Refinement

For a working dog with real foundation that needs the standard applied. Bark, bite, hold, out cleaned up. House, door, driveway, family behavior brought to line. Handler turnover included — we hand the dog back to you and hold you through the transition until the behavior sticks in your environment, not just ours.

Duration: typically thirty to forty-five days on site. Every dog is evaluated the first week. If the dog is not a Refinement candidate — if it needs Rebuild instead, or cannot hold the standard at all — we tell you before the meter runs. You pay for the evaluation only, or you upgrade to Rebuild with a stated scope.

Tier 2 · Rebuild

For a working dog whose foundation is missing, broken, or built on the wrong things. Full evaluation. Foundation repair from the ground up. Multi-day handler turnover at the end — because a rebuilt dog needs a handler who understands what changed.

Duration: typically ninety days on site, longer for hard cases. Some dogs need it. Some dogs do not. Some dogs cannot hold the rebuild — and we tell you before we start pulling the foundation apart, not after.

Evaluation Comes First

Every dog entering this development service gets the same first week. We evaluate temperament, nerve, drive quality, existing training, and handler-side habits. That evaluation determines whether the dog is a Refinement candidate, a Rebuild candidate, or a return-with-refund.

We do not run a dog through a program that is wrong for it. Refinement on a dog that needs Rebuild is wasted money. Rebuild on a dog that only needs Refinement is disruptive. The evaluation is what protects the owner from both.

What You Get Back

A dog that meets the standard. A handler turnover that transfers the work into your environment. Written documentation of what was addressed, what was corrected, and what the ongoing maintenance looks like on your end.

Follow-up is stated up front — one on-site or remote check-in at thirty days after return, and continued access to the K1K9™ enquiry channel for the specific behaviors we worked. This is not a lifetime warranty. It is a stated support window.

Requesting Intake

Use the enquiry form. State the dog's breed, age, current training background, and the specific problem you want addressed. If the dog has a bite history, disclose it in the initial message — not after intake. Applications are reviewed personally by KILO1. Not every dog is a fit for this SCAD™ development service, and we say so honestly.

If this development service is not right for your dog, we will say so — and where possible we will point you to a resource that is. That is part of the standard.
