KESP™ means Kinetic Engagement Sparring Partner. Within K1K9, it describes a training role with an emphasis on structured feedback, documented observations and collaboration with the handler and specialist team. It is not a claim that all decoys work alike or that using a different title makes someone superior. Other disciplines have their own purposes and requirements; applicants should understand the scope of each credential.
The useful comparison is between responsibilities, not personalities. What is expected of the partner? What is recorded? Who reviews it? How are safety and welfare protected? Those questions make the role understandable.
