The person in the suit deserves respect. Decoy work calls for observation, commitment and practical skill, and our invitation to professional development starts by recognizing that contribution. These articles challenge ideas, not the worth of the people who learned them. A different title does not make someone more capable overnight. What matters is the care, preparation and feedback brought to the canine and handler.
Within K1K9, the KESP™ role builds on experience through supervised learning and documented review. We want professionals who can explain what they observed, acknowledge what they do not know and work constructively with specialists.
