I’m new. What is a Protection K9?
Begin with the language, the handler’s responsibilities and what we mean by Professional Special Services K9. You do not need to choose equipment or a program today.
Start with the basics →Public introduction and terminology.I already own a dog. Could protection be right for us?
Start with your household, your expectations and your ability to handle the responsibility. Tell us about your dog and your circumstances. This website cannot determine whether your dog is suitable for protection work.
Request a handler & family consultation →Inquiry only. Scope, suitability and fees are discussed separately. My dog is trained. What protection do I actually have?
Start with what your dog was taught, the records you have and the situations you expect your team to handle. Ask about an assessment rather than trying to prove capability through a confrontation.
Ask about a capability assessment →Professional inquiry, not an online pass/fail test.I want to purchase a Protection K9.
Read before you commit. Explore the questions to ask a provider, then discuss your household, experience and requirements with us.
Read the buyer’s guide →Discuss a private placement →Reading access is labeled on the article. A placement inquiry is not a purchase or a reservation.I’m having problems with my Protection K9.
Tell us what has changed and what support you need. Do not provoke, confront or stage a bite to test the problem. For injury, sudden behavior changes or an immediate safety concern, seek appropriate local veterinary or emergency help first.
Request a recalibration consultation →This inquiry form is not monitored as an emergency service.I want to train my own dog. Where should I start?
Start with handler education and a conversation with a qualified professional about suitability and supervision. Reading or watching a video is not a substitute for supervised protection training. We do not recommend experimenting with bite work on your own.
Explore handler learning →Ask for professional guidance →Browse series now. Video rollout is scheduled to begin November 15, 2026.I’m looking for a trainer.
Tell us your location, your dog’s background and what you want help with. We can review your inquiry and discuss an appropriate next step. We do not promise a local trainer or an available appointment.
Request training guidance →Private specialist services are quoted separately from Core Membership.I’m looking for a professional decoy.
Tell us where you train, who leads the training and what kind of professional support you need. Start a conversation rather than treating the professional-network preview as a live booking directory.
Ask about decoy support →Understand the KESP™ role →An inquiry does not confirm a match, availability or a booking.I just want articles, resources or an answer to a question.
You are welcome to start by reading. Browse SIGNALS™ by subject, explore public resources and use the membership labels to see what requires paid access.
Browse articles and resources →Ask a general question →Public reading and previews are available without subscribing.QUICK ANSWERS
Before you go further.
Do I need a membership to get started?
No. This guide, public resources, selected free articles and article previews are available without a membership. Active paid members can open full member articles and available PDFs through the member library.
See what Core Membership includes →Are there different levels of Core Membership?
There is one Core learning membership. Private consultations, in-person training, equipment, K9 placement and KESP™ professional offerings are separate unless expressly included. A membership is not a training certificate or a guarantee of access to restricted material.
Review membership and separate services →What is available now, and what is coming?
Public reading, member articles and available member PDFs are open now. Video rollout is scheduled to begin November 15, 2026. Products, classes, certification and events have their own availability; check the relevant page before making plans or requesting a place.
Explore training and protection →View event plans →Can this guide assess my dog or tell me what is legal?
No. It helps you find a starting point. It does not assess your dog, replace a professional evaluation or provide legal advice. Discuss your circumstances with appropriate qualified professionals.
